Eric Ghost is well named as he is indeed a mystery man. A contemporary (and best friend) of 1960's Funky Jazzman Jeremy Steig his self published Private Press albums are much coveted and difficult to obtain and command high prices.

This Psychedelic Jazz masterpiece was recorded in 1975 and features Dave Valentin bassist Lincoln Goines in his studio debut as well as Jim McGilveray who went on to record with Paul Horn and The Cult.

If you're a fan of The Blues Project "Flute Thing", Paul Horn's more esoteric offerings or indeed the aforementioned Jeremy Steig then this album is for you. The music is intense and demands your attention, it's both Funky and Spiritual from the first note of "Orangeland" to the last notes of the Eastern influenced "Bizarre Bazaar".

Eric was involved with the Counter Culture from his time in Morocco in the early 1960's (while serving in the US Army, kind of like a Hip Elvis) until shortly after this album was recorded when under his real name, Richard Barth Sanders he was convicted of LSD Manufacture (he invented the blotting paper method of LSD distribution so could be entitled to say he was the world's first Acid Jazzer) and sentenced to 7 years in a Federal Prison.

The album is re-issued with the original cover artwork with the correct track order for the first time.

Eric Ghost 👻porte bien son nom car il est en effet un homme mystérieux. Ses propres albums sortis sur des pressages privé sont introuvables et à des prix 😱. Dans les années 60 il est le meilleur ami du Funky Jazzman Jeremy Steig ce qui en dit long sur son jeu de flûtiste.
Ce chef-d’œuvre de jazz psychédélique a été enregistré en 1974/75 et met en vedette le bassiste Dave Valentin, Lincoln Goines dans ses débuts en studio ainsi que Jim McGilveray qui a enregistré avec Paul Horn et The Cult.

Si vous êtes un fan de Jeremy Steig, alors cet album est pour vous. La musique est intense et demande votre attention, c’est à la fois Funky et Spiritual de la première note de "Orangeland" aux dernières notes de l’influence orientale "Bizarre Bazaar".

Eric a été impliqué dans la Contre-Culture depuis son séjour au Maroc au début des années 1960 (alors qu’il servait dans l’armée américaine) peu de temps après l'enregistrement de cet album, il est arrêté dans une ville du nord de l'Etat de New York sous son vrai nom, Richard Barth Sanders coupable de fabrication de LSD la plus grande production à l'époque 1 million d'unités de dosage à 2$ pièce (il a inventé la méthode du papier buvard) il est condamné à 7 ans dans une prison fédérale.

L’album est réédité avec la pochette originale avec l’ordre des titres correct pour la première fois.

フルートと言えばジェレミー・スタイグやポール・ホーンらが想起されますが、まさに彼らが1960年代後半から70年代初頭にかけて表現していたような世界観を踏襲したうな見事な内容。
実際、このエリック・ゴーストはジェレミー・スタイグの親友だったという話もあるらしく、相通じるものが感じられます。
オリジナル盤は入手困難、高値で取引されているため、まさに待望の復刻です!!

Where has this absolutely storming monster of a version been hiding for the last 40 years? Not only that, there is an epic version of Herbie Hancock's "Chameleon" too.
